Resident hair expert and all round wonderful human, Lauren McCowan certainly knows a thing or two about hair. As creative director for Hair Care Australia, Lauren splits her time between here and New York, styling across the board from editorial to runway, managing to squeeze in time for educational workshops in between. Busy girl! We recently asked her to explore the idea of the quintessential Aje girl and what this meant to her. The result? Cool, effortless waves with a touch of carefree nonchalance. Merci Lauren we love!
Read on to find Lauren's guide to achieving the look.
Start with hair out, natural and relaxed. Dampen the hair slightly with a water spray and Moroccanoil Luminous hairspray and split into quarters. Twist into tight buns and clip. With a blowdryer and diffuser, heat up the buns until they are dry- for about 5 minutes.
Let the hair cool and then release buns out and separate the hair. This will create a loose wave.
Take a large vertical section, starting at the front hairline. Use the Cloud Nine Original Wand and wrap the roots and mid-lengths, set for 5 seconds and release.
Once all the hair is set, brush out with a paddle brush and finish with Moroccanoil Luminous hairspray for gloss and soft hold.
