Discover Spring 23 ‘Odyssey’: an ode to the spirit of adventure.
Singing of escapes to far-flung places, ‘Odyssey’ is a love letter to the allure of a grand sojourn.
While designing the collection, Aje Co-founders Edwina Forest and Adrian Norris found themselves reminiscing on summers spent seeking respite in the idyllic isles of Greece. Enchanted by a shared sense of escapism entwined with the islands’ ancient aura, the creation of ‘Odyssey’ began.
Grounded in Grecian-inspired elements imbued with modern ease, geometric key motifs unfurl through painterly prints, quilted textures and hardware trims. Appearing across the season, undone takes on traditional draping appear as asymmetric ruching, knotted accents and tactile twists, with falling ruffles heightening shoulders, hips and hems.
Inspired by Aphrodite’s island origin myth, the goddess’ shell manifests in a myriad of feminine forms, combining pleated organza fans with billowing silhouettes, sinuous seam lines with abstract scalloped hems, and sculptural minaudières with textural hardware.
Recalling hazy afternoons beneath the island sun, vivid hues contrast against tranquil earth tones throughout the collection, with bold infusions of bougainvillea, flushed scarlet and deep indigo offset by soft neutrals. The season’s prints draw from the same palette, as hand-painted florals and tonal tie-dye take to flowing linens and structured denim.
